How do souls redeem fallen angels?

‘Why do souls need to redeem themselves by becoming incarnate?’ the young prince says. ‘After all, aren’t they sparks of God, just as pure and as good as He is?’

Surprised, Father Zinon hesitates. ‘You wish to know why souls must atone for their sins by travelling back through the world of flesh, neh?’

‘What sins, Father? What crime have they committed to deserve such punishment? Why all the trials? Why all the suffering?’

In The Dark Side of the Soul, two souls fall in love before an angel casts them into the shadowy world of mortals. Embodied in human shells but bereft of memory of their inner selves, they seek each other through the ages, never aware of the nature of their obsessive quest. Captured by angels, lured by demons, they must find the secret role of Humankind and the mysterious purpose of incarnation before facing the dark side of the soul.
